What do we do when the ever-pressing weight of unchecked boxes begins to take its toll?
Our littlest ones are always learning. It is our job as parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles to make sure they are learning the right lessons. Teach them empathy. Always.
A few minutes later, my daughter walked over to me. There were tears in her eyes, and she made an expression that has broken my heart repeatedly since this happened today. "A girl touched me. Girl touched me." She looked very upset and a little confused.
She has never seen anything like these gymnasts before. To her, they are superheroes. They are doing things she has never seen. Flips and jumps and twists and twirls that my daughter never knew were even possible.
